*Peoples Choice Leg of Lamb & Ribs Friday night June 18th.
We have 10 leg of lambs donated by the Iowa Lamb Association and 10 case of ribs donated by JBS of Marshalltown. They provided the meat and you do the magic and win! $200/banner for each category to be judged on Friday night at 7pm by the public.

The 9th Annual State Center BBQ Championship, returns to Rose Festival weekend! It’ll be a two-day barbeque competition in the beautiful city of State Center just north of the Rose Garden, plus live music and other entertainment. The Rose Festival has gone the extra mile and achieved sanctioning from the Kansas City Barbeque Society, the world’s largest organization of barbeque and grilling enthusiasts. This event will feature competition in 4 categories: Chicken, pork ribs, pork butt/picnic or whole shoulder, and beef brisket. The official competition will take place on Saturday afternoon, and Friday night will feature the Peoples Choice Chili Cook-Off.
